Liposuction of the Neck
A smooth, graceful neckline portrays a sense of refinement that serves to enhance a person’s overall appearance. Through neck contouring surgery, Dr. Lee can help patients, both male and female, achieve the naturally beautiful neckline they desire.
Neck liposuction creates a firmer, smoother and more refined appearance to the neck and chin. Even without making any other changes to the face, improving a thick, wrinkled or sagging neck can dramatically improve one’s appearance, helping a patient look years younger or even as though he or she has lost weight. Neck contouring can also help restore balance to facial features by providing a better defined jawline that frames the rest of the face.
Liposuction removes excess fat, but cannot significantly improve sagging skin. The typical neck liposuction patient will be younger, in his or her 20’s through early 50’s, as younger patients typically have good skin elasticity, which is necessary for the skin to contract smoothly and evenly after liposuction.
Through 1 or 2 tiny incisions, concealed beneath the chin or behind the ears, Dr. Lee will insert a small liposuction cannula, removing excess fat and sculpting a natural contour to the chin and neck. Following the procedure, patients typically wear a special supportive chin strap for about 3 or 4 days, return to work within 1 week, and be ready to return to full activity after about 2 weeks. It is typical to experience some swelling and bruising after neck liposuction; this should resolve during the first 10 to 14 days after surgery. You will not see the final results until a couple of months after surgery.
What is the process for Liposuction of the Neck?
To begin the journey you will meet with Dr Lee for a free consult. His consult days are generally Tuesdays and Thursdays. Allow for about 40 minutes. During the consult Dr Lee will listen to all your concerns, do a thorough examination, answer your questions and offer you his recommendations. You will also be given a written quote after the consult.
If you decide to move forward with surgery his scheduling staff will find you a surgery day and then a preoperative appointment about two weeks before the surgery date where you will meet with the nurse and go over pre and post op instructions, sign consents, get prescriptions and make your final payment.
Surgery will be done either on premises at our fully accredited surgery center, NW Plastic Surgery Center where you will go under IV sedation, also known as twilight anesthesia.
You will go home the same day and then come back for a two day and then a one week post op appointment. Healing and follow up will continue, Dr Lee recommends about three weeks optimally to be back out in the world looking fabulous.
Dr Lee will guide you through the recovery period at your post op appointments, there is a necessary 7 days of very low activity for optimal healing.
What is the cost for Neck liposuction?
Dr Lee does not take medical insurance for this procedure. You will be given a written quote at your consultation appointment which will include the following:
- Surgeon’s fee
- Hospital or surgical facility costs
- Anesthesia fees
